titleOfInvention Apparatus for vulcanising rubber hoses or similar
abstract Vulcanizing an elastomeric hose from its inside towards its outside comprises placing it on a mandrel, rapidly heating the mandrel to a preset temperature and maintaining this temperature for a preset time. An Independent claim is included for the following: (a) A vulcanizing device for performing the above method has a mandrel and a device enabling a heat transfer fluid to circulate through the mandrel. Preferred Features: The vulcanization takes placed in a temperature controlled chamber containing an inert atmosphere. The preset temperature is not more than 80 deg C. The mandrel has a closed conical end. A smaller diameter flexible tube is inserted into the other end of the mandrel and extends towards the closed end. The heat transfer fluid is supplied through the tube to the closed end of the mandrel and flows back along the mandrel. The conical end makes it easier to fit the hose onto the mandrel.
