titleOfInvention SIVagm-derived lentiviral vectors, processes for their preparation and their application in the gene transfer in mammalian cells
abstract The production and use of new lentiviral vectors derived from SIVagm for gene transfer are described, in particular a production process for the lentiviral vectors, the capsid particles of the Simian immunodeficiency virus SIVagm and envelope proteins of the SIVagm and other retroviruses such as the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and other monkey immune deficiency SIV), other retroviruses such as the murine leukemia virus (MLV) or the "Gibbon Ape Leukemia Virus" (GaLV) or the porcine endogenous or exogenous retrovirus (PERV), the "Vesicular Stomatitis Virus" (VSV-G). The vectors and corresponding packaging cells can be used for the packaging and transfer of genes which are not packaged by other lentiviral, retroviral and other vectors or whose gene transfer with other vector particles is not efficient. These vectors can be used for gene transfer to selected cell types, especially human proliferation-active and resting cells.
