titleOfInvention Method and device to assist the positioning of an external transmitting part relating to an implantable receiving part of an implantable medical devices's charging system
abstract The invention relates to a device and a method for supporting the positioning of an external transmitting part (10) with respect to an implantable receiving part (11) of a charging system for charging a rechargeable energy source (28) of an implantable medical device (22), in particular an implantable hearing aid. The transmitting and the receiving part each have a resonance circuit (13, 23) with a transmitting coil (14) and a receiving coil (24), respectively, and these coils can be inductively coupled to one another by appropriate manual positioning of the transmitting part for transcutaneous energy transmission. The transmitting part (10) is provided with an oscillator (19) connected to the transmitting resonance circuit (13), the resonance frequency of which shifts depending on the coupling between the transmitting and receiving coil (14, 24), a measuring arrangement (32) for determining the frequency detuning of the oscillator and an evaluation arrangement (32) for outputting a positioning signal as a function of the determined frequency detuning of the oscillator.
