The invention relates to a compoundncomprising a reaction product of (A) an isocyanatenfunctional compound of which at least 40 wt.%, relativento the total amount of (A), has a molecular weight ofnat least about 500, and (B) a nitrogen-containingncompound capable of reacting with said isocyanatenfunctional compound (A). The reaction product has anmolecular weight of less than about 20,000 andncomprises an effective amount of groups that are ablento form reversible intermolecular physical interactionsnsuch that a resulting compound shows polymericnmechanical properties at a temperature below antransition temperature. The nitrogen-containingncompound is, for instance, melamine, urea,nacetoguanamine, benzoguanamine, cyanamide, dicyanamide,nthiourea, isocytosine, pyrimidone or aminopyridine. Thensupramolecular compound comprising a suitable amount ofnthe reaction products exhibits a relatively highnelongation at break. |
