abstract |
A spine distraction implant (1000) alleviates pain associated with spinal stenosis, facet arthropathy by expanding the volume in the spine canal, and/or neural foramen. The implant provides a spinal extension stop (1016) while allowing freedom of spinal flexion. nAn apparatus for implantation between spinous processes, comprising: na sleeve (1072) having a longitudinal passage having a first opening in a first end portion of the sleeve and a second opening in a second end portion of the sleeve; na first flexible retention member (1084) having a first end portion extending from the sleeve at the first opening and a second end portion extending from the sleeve at the second opening and a middle portion disposed within the passage; and na second flexible retention member (1084) having a third end portion extending from the sleeve at the first opening and a fourth end portion extending from the sleeve at the second opening and a middle portion disposed within the passage. |
