abstract The fastening element (10) can be anchored in a mounting rail (36). It has a clamping element (12), a tensioning element (16) and a threaded pin (20) which, with the help of a lock nut (22), enables the fastening element (10) to be tightened on the leg ends (44). A pre-fixing of the fastening element (10) has already been possible so far, but it widens the flanks (42) of the mounting rail (36) and requires a large screwing angle. To facilitate the assembly process and to avoid deformation of the mounting rail, it is proposed that at least one spring clip (28) is provided on the clamping element (12), which can be inserted in a resilient manner by rotating the clamping element (12) under one leg end (44). A small angle of rotation and a sufficient hold in the pre-fixed position, which nevertheless enables fine adjustment in the axial direction, are the advantages of such a fastening element.
