The invention relates to a process for the preparation of organosilicon compounds (P) which contain α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid residues of the general formula (1) -AOC (O) -CR = CH 2 Contain in which, in a first step, organosilicon compounds (H) which contain hydrogen atoms bonded directly to silicon in the presence of metals or compounds of the platinum group as a catalyst with olefinically unsaturated compounds (U) with a terminal double or triple bond of the general formula (2) Ω-OC (O) -CRH-CH 2 -Z organosilicon compounds (E), the radicals of the general formula (3) -AOC (O) -CRH-CH 2 -Z contain, be implemented, and in a second step compounds HZ are eliminated from organosilicon compounds (E), in which A a divalent organic residue, Ω a monovalent organic radical with terminal double or triple bond, R an H atom or a methyl radical and Z.
