abstract The invention relates to a hybrid gas generator.nintended for automobile safety.n n n The generator (1) comprises a reservoir (2)ncontaining a cold gas (10) under pressure and havingnan open end in which is fixed anenclosure (3) located outside the tank (2).nThis enclosure (3) is provided with evacuation orifices forngas (6) and has a front wall (8) carrying anopening closed by a cover (9) which allowsnseal the inside of the tank (2)ninside the enclosure (3). The latter containsna profiled explosive charge initiator (12) and anpyrotechnic charge (13), the initiator (12) beingnable to cause the destruction of the cover from a distancen(9) and to initiate the loading initiationnpyrotechnic (13).n n n This generator (1) allows, in the very first moments of operation, to initiate the deployment of the protective cushion using cold gas (10).
