HULL PROTEIN INDUCED RESISTANCE IN PLANTS |
abstract |
The invention features a method by which a transgenic plant may be generated which exhibits increased resistance to virus-mediated disease. The method may be generally applied to any plant a) having genotypes or cultivars with increased resistance to a viral pathogen, and b) able to be infected by a virus whose coat protein gene may be used in coat protein mediated resistance (CPMR). |
