titleOfInvention | Liquid crystal alignment film and method of producing the same, and liquid crystal display using the same and method of producing the same |
abstract | The purpose is to provide a liquid crystal alignment layer of a multidomainnalignment type, winch is excellent in an alignment control characteristic andndurability, and to provide a multidomain type liquid crystal display device, whichnhas a high image quality a high contrast a wide viewing angle and an excellentnresponse, by using this liquid crystal alignment layer. This purpose can benactualized by a liquid crystal alignment layer manufactured in the followingnmethod: using a chemical adsorbate comprising a photosensitive group, a silicon, nand a linear carbon chain or a linear siloxane combined chain; forming a thin filmnin a monolayer by chemisorbing the chemical adsorbate on a surface of a substratenwith a display electrode; additionally, inclining an adsorbed molecule composingnthe thin film in a particular direction; later, crosslinking the adsorbed molecule toneach other at its photosensitive group part by irradiating a patterned polarizednlight; and making an inclination and/or an alignment direction of a major axis of anmolecule composing the thin film to the substrate plane differ in each of a pluralitynof divided sections into which a pixel is divided. |
