A method for assaying biological specimens for substancesncontained in the components of each specimen by the use of one ornmore kinds of calixarenes; and a reagent comprising one or morenkinds of calixarenes. n The method utilizes complexes formed by calixarenes and thencomponents of biological specimens, and makes it possible to assaynbiological specimens for substances contained in the componentsnof each specimen, for example, for cholesterol contained innhigh-density lipoprotein (HDL), without preliminary separationnfrom the other components of the biological specimen. The methodncan be conducted by easy and simple operations and lessennmeasurement errors or problems caused by man, and permitsncontinuous measurement with general-purpose automatic analyzingnapparatuses and multi-channel measurement together with other testnitems. |
