titleOfInvention AROMATIC POLYESTER COMPOSITIONS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOLDED ITEMS AND BOTTLES MADE THEREOF
abstract Aromatic polyester compositions comprising from 5 to 95 % by weight of an ethylene-naphthalene dicarboxylate copolymer and from 95 to 5 % by weight of an ethylene terephthalate (co)polymer wherein the degree of compatibility between these polymers is from 0.15 to 0.5 and the melting point of the compositions is lowered depending on the content of the ethylene-naphthalene dicarboxylate. Because of being excellent in compatibility, transparency, barrier properties and heat resistance, these compositions are excellent as materials for producing various molded articles, in particular, bottles.
