abstract An amber vehicle lamp (10) having a lamp bulb, and an amber coating (12) including a clear silicone-polyester resin, and colorants including yellow iron oxide, and a yellow anthraquinone. The amber coating may further include a silane coupling agent. The amber vehicle lamp (10) provides an amber color meeting ECE specifications, and having a coating durability of 96 percent of color at 70 percent of the rated lamp life. The colorants have a particle size of less than 0.01 microns providing a substantially clear albeit amber colored bulb.
