A process for preparing an optically active oxazolidinone derivativen ncomprises allowing hydrazine to react on an optically active esternhaving a hydroxyl group at the 3-position which is represented bynformula (II):n nwherein R 1 represents a lower alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbonnatoms, a phenyl group, a methoxymethyl group, a benzyloxymethyl group, anbenzyloxycarbonylaminomethyl group which may have a substituent ornsubstituents on the benzene ring thereof, an acylaminomethyl groupnhaving 3 to 10 carbon atoms, or an alkyloxycarbonylaminomethyl groupnhaving 3 to 6 carbon atoms; R 2 and R 3 , which may benthe same or different, each represent a hydrogen atom, a lower alkylngroup having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, an acetylaminomethylngroup, a benzoylaminomethyl group, or a benzyl group; and * indicates annasymmetric carbon atom, nand subjecting the resulting hydrazide to Curtius rearrangement. |
