titleOfInvention Semiconductor laser with tunable gain
abstract Semiconductor laser, gain spectrumntunable.n n n This laser comprises an active area comprising at least one active quantum well (AQW) which emits laser radiation when carriers are introduced into the active area and at least one collection quantum well (CQW 1 , CQW 2 ), of each side of the active well, to collect and confine part of the carriers introduced. Means for distributing the carriers in the collection wells are provided to create a space charge field to modify, during the emission of the radiation and by an electro-optical effect, the gain spectrum of this active well. Application to optical telecommunications.
