abstract |
Thickening of water-in-silicone emulsions isnobtained by adding a silicone latex to the water phasenthereof instead of adding the silicone latex to the siliconenphase of the emulsion. The latex is used in a range of 0.1-5.0%nby weight. Thick water in silicone emulsions are madenby (i) separately preparing a silicone phase containing ansilicone polyether and a cyclic siloxane; (ii) separatelynpreparing an aqueous phase containing water and at least onenactive ingredient; (iii) adding the latex to the aqueousnphase; and (iv) combining and mixing the phases. |
