abstract |
An optical data storage medium comprising ansubstrate having thereon concavities and convexities sonthat diffraction of reflected light is caused; anreflective layer having a high regular reflectance; andna colored region which is provided by applyingntransparent coloring ink to the reflective layer or,nwhere present, a protective layer thereon, so that thenregular reflectance of the reflective layer on the sidenopposite to the substrate side falls within a range ofnfrom 3 to 80%. The external appearance of the opticalndata storage medium provides a visual effect utilizingnmetallic gloss and light-diffraction-based iridescentnreflection characteristics which result from thenreflective layer provided on the substrate havingnconcavities and convexities. |
