titleOfInvention Automated analyser with means for monitoring pipetting procedures
abstract Automatic analyzer for the examination of liquid samples, comprising a pipette arm (12) for taking sample liquid from each sample vessel and for dispensing this sample liquid into a mixing chamber or reaction cuvette (14), and means for controlling the machine, sensors for monitoring the functions of the machine and means for evaluating monitoring results and for issuing possible error messages, these means comprising at least one program-controlled processor. The automatic analyzer is designed to monitor the pipetting processes with high efficiency and reliability, characterized in that a plurality of sequence and monitoring controls (31 to 35) are provided, which form self-contained, mutually independent units which, based on start commands from a central control ( 52) begin their function and end this by emitting a respective mode signal (S1 to S7) to the central control (52), and that in addition, a combination logic (54) is provided in the automatic analyzer, which is connected to at least two of the sequence and monitoring controls (31 to 33, 35), which logic combines messages from these controllers (31 to 33, 35) in the sense of a logical AND and outputs a mode signal (S1 to S7) corresponding to the combination result to the central controller (52), whereby in the central control (52) each mode signal (S1 to S7) a corresponding reaction of the Analy sen automatics (10) is permanently assigned.
