Methods for assaying antibody and device for assaying antibody |
abstract |
The invention relates to a technology by which antibodiesndirected to sources of infection in body fluids can be assayednwith high accuracy, expediency and specificity. Morenparticularly, the invention provides an antibody immunoassaynmethod in which the antigen-antibody reaction between a targetnantibody in a sample and an assay antigen is conducted in thenpresence of an E . coli component and an antibody assay methodnwhich comprises using a reagent having a specific affinity fornthe Fc region of an antibody IgG as the antibody assay reagent.nThe invention further provides an antibody assay devicencomprising a solid-phase support having at least (a) a firstnregion to which a sample is applied and (b) a second regionnwhere the antibody in the sample is reacted as disposed in suchnan arrangement that the sample is wicked from the first regionnto the second region and a labeling means for detection of thenresult of the reaction in the second region, characterized innthat the (b) second region is provided with (i) a test sitenin which a ligand for capturing the target antibody to benassayed is immobilized and (ii) a control site in which a ligandnfor capturing an arbitrary antibody occurring in the samplenis immobilized. |
