abstract | A liquid discharge head comprises a separationnmember (31) for separating the discharge liquid flow paths (14)ncommunicated with discharge ports (18) for dischargingndischarge liquid to enable discharge liquid to flow,nand the bubbling liquid flow paths (16) to enable bubblingnliquid to flow, which is provided with the bubblengenerating areas (11) for creating bubbles (40) used forndischarging discharge liquid from the discharge ports (18).nThis separation member (31) is provided with the openingnportions positioned to face the bubble generatingnareas (11), and displacement members (25,26) provided for thenseparation member (31) corresponding to the openings, havingnthe free ends to be displaced by bubbles created on thenbubble generating areas (11) provided for the separationnmember (31). Then, with no bubbles created on the bubblengenerating areas (11), the displacement members (25,26) interruptnthe opening portions, and with bubbles (40) created thereon,nthe free ends of the displacement members (25,26) are displacednto discharge discharge liquid from the discharge ports (18)nof the head. Hence, this head can prevent dischargenliquid from entering around the heat generating members (2)nat the time of bubble disappearance, and the mixture ofndischarge liquid and bubbling liquid when the head isnleft intact for a long time, while maintaining thenexcellent discharge efficiency by means of thendisplacement members thus arranged. |
