abstract The invention relates to multiple water/oil/water emulsions with a high polyol content obtained by processing a mixture containing lipid bodies, lipophilic emulsifiers and polyols into a W/O pre-emulsion which is then processed further using an aqueous mixture of hydrophilic emulsifiers and polyols, subject to the condition that the polyol content is between 10 and 50 weight percent in the internal phase and between 5 and 20 weight percent in the external phase. These emulsions are cosmetically elegant and stable during storage.
