A process for producing a peptide having a desired biological activitynvia gene recombination characterized in that an accessory peptide is addednto the target peptide followed by the expression thereof. Use of this processnmakes it possible to prevent agglutination in the recovery and purificationnsteps with the regulation of isoelectric points, to achieve an elevated yield innion exchange chromatography, to improve the solubility of a fused protein innan enzymatic reaction wherein the target peptide is expressed as the fusednprotein with another protein and then liberated by enzymatic cleavage, tonimprove the solubility of the target peptide in an enzymatic reaction whereinnthe peptide should be enzymatically modified, etc., thus elevating thenpurification efficiency and yield of the target protein. |
