abstract The invention concerns a method for adsorbing inhibitors of polymerisation of ethylenically unsaturate monomers which consists in contacting these inhibitors with an alumina containing at least a compound of an element selected among the group formed by alkaline, earth-alkaline and rare earth, the alkaline and alkaline-earth elements being present in a content of at least 15 mmols for 100 g of alumina, and the rare earth elements in a content of at least 5 mmols for 100 g of alumina.
