titleOfInvention | Ocular microcirculation examination and treatment apparatus |
abstract | An ophthalmologic examination apparatus comprises a light source (14), illumination means for directing light from the source along an illumination path (11) and into the fundus of an eye of a patient, imaging means for directing fluorescence from the fundus of the patient along an imaging path (12) to enable an image of the eye to be viewed, wherein the illumination and imaging paths (11, 12) are arranged as a confocal microscope adapted to focus on the fundus of the eye. A method of diagnosis of disease in an eye of a patient comprises providing in the ocular circulation of the patient: first and second dyes which fluoresce in response to illumination at a first and a second wavelength respectively. The fundus of the patient is alternately illuminated so as to excite the first and second dyes at the first and the second wavelengths, respectively and viewing an image of the eye by viewing fluorescence from the first and the second dye, alternately. |
