titleOfInvention | Method of harvesting rare cells from blood products |
abstract | The invention relates to a method of harvesting rare cells from a blood product. In one embodiment, the rare cells comprise mononuclear cells and in another embodiment the cells comprise dendritic cells. The method comprises contacting the blood product with a porous medium and selectively retaining the rare cells on the porous medium. The porous medium is contacted with an elution fluid which in one embodiment is a nutrient rich elution fluid and in another embodiment is an elution fluid at a temperature between about 5-37°C. The rare cells are selectively eluted from the porous medium. |
