titleOfInvention | Methods for clinical diagnosis |
abstract | The present invention relates to methods for analysing chromosomes either for research or clinical diagnosis purposes, particularly for the diagnosis of chromosome abnormalities. The invention provides an improved method of increasing the proportion of cells in the metaphase stage of the cell cycle in order to facilitate the analysis of chromosomes. The method involves contacting the cells with a mitosis stimulating agent, for example, a protein phosphatase inhibitor such as okadaic acid (OA). |
