The present invention relates to a vascular filter which can be placed inside a body cavity,nsuch as a blood vessel. A catheter may be used to deliver the filter, and consists of a tubularnbasic body with a distal end, a proximal end and a lumen extending between the ends. Thenvascular filter may be received in a compressed state inside the catheter lumen. The catheternmay include an ejection device, which can be used to eject the vascular filter from the distal endnof the catheter. Some portion of the vascular filter may tend to push off in a resilient mannernagainst the distal end of the catheter, and the filter preferably includes a brake for acting on thencatheter lumen, which tends to slow and control ejection from the catheter. |
