The invention concerns a self-adjusting cable whereof the material with positive temperature coefficient (PTC) behaviour is an extrusible alloy of compatible polymers comprising (the percentages being expressed by weight relative to the weight of said polymers): 20 to 50 % of at least a polar polymer; 50 to 80 % of at least a matrix polymer selected among the poly(C1-C4 alkylene) terephtahalates, polyamides, propylenes, polycarbonates, polyester and polyether copolymers, polyketones and methyl polymethacrylates, or their mixtures; 5 to 15 %, preferably 5 to 10 % of at least a conductive filler such as carbon black; and optionally non-conductive fillers. The invention also concerns a method for making said self-adjusting cable. |
