abstract A filter medium by use of which a long-life compact air cleaningnsystem having a function of removing floating fine particles from the air, andna function of decomposing organisms for deodorizing and antibacterial effectsnis provided. This filter medium is fabricated by superposing a uniaxialnoriented film of titanium oxide-containing unbaked PTFE on a uniaxialnoriented film of semi baked PTFE, forming a laminated film by stretchingnthese films in the widthwise direction thereof, and laminating nonwovenncloths of resin on both sides of the laminated film. In this filter medium,nthe titanium oxide-containing PTFE film layer acts as a breathing layer (2)nhaving a function of a photocatalyst, the titanium oxide non-containingnPTFE film layer acts as a breathing layer (3) having a floating particlencapturing function, and the resin nonwoven cloth layers act as breathingnsupport layers (4a, 4b).
