The invention concers a fat based food product comprisingnnatural fat components which have a blood cholesterolnlowering effect in amounts sufficient to obtain a bloodncholesterol lowering effect if the food product is usednaccording tothe common needs and customs of the consumer,nwherein at least one of toctrienol, oryzanol and phytosterolnis present, and preferably at least one of oryzanol andnphytosterol. In a further preferred embodiment the fat innthe product comprises at least 30 wt%, preferably at leastn45 wt% of pufa-triglycerides. By the regular consumption ofnthe now found fat based food products a positivencontribution to health in general, and in particular to thenlowering of the blood cholesterol level can be found. |
