A harvesting arrangement (3) is carried by the crane (4) of a vehicle (2) and is adapted to cut a standing tree, lay it down and then drive it through a de-branching arrangement. The log may be cross cut and a position determining device (5) determines the position of the vehicle using global positioning signals from a satellite (6), while a computer-controlled marking device applies markings to pieces of timber obtained from the trees : Independent claims are included for a method of sawing pieces of timber and for a forestry system. |
