abstract An apparatus providing pulsed emission of a laser beam (6) and comprising a laser rod (1), devices (2, 3) providing pulsed excitation of the laser rod (1) so that said rod delivers light radiation, a resonator (4, 5) placed on either side of the rod (1) for emitting laser light radiation, and devices for selecting the wavelength of the emitted laser light radiation. Said selection devices (4, 5) are designed to promote the emission of light radiation at a wavelength of 1.34 νm, so that hard and soft tissue may be heated.
