abstract | Divisible hollow copolyester fibers having ansatisfactory processing property, for example, cardingnproperty and capable of being divided by applying anmechanical stress thereto into fibril-like thin fibers, neach include a hollow portion surrounded by a shellnportion and extending along the longitudinal axes of thenhollow fibers, wherein the shell portion is made from ancopolyester of an acid component including terephthalicnacid and 1 to 6 molar % of a sulfonate group-containingndicarboxylic acid, with a diol component includingnethylene glycol; the hollow fibers have (1) thickness ofn0.56 to 8.89 d tex (0.5 to 8.0 denier), (2) a hollownratio of 25/100 or more, (3) a crystallization degree ofn20% or more, and (4) a crystal size in (010) plane ofn4 nm or more; and the shell portions each have anplurality of cracks intermittently extending along thenlongitudinal axes of the hollow fibers. |
