abstract |
To obtain a modified polyisocyanate which has a highnemulsifying/dispersing ability in aqueous resinncompositions (solution or dispersion) and can be usednadvantageously as a curing agent or cross-linking agent.nThe modified polyisocyanate is comprised of a reactionnproduct of a polyisocyanate (an aliphatic or alicyclicnpolyisocyanate such as 1,6-diisocyanate hexane or anderivative thereof) with one of the following componentsn(1) to (3):n (1) a nonionic emulsifying agent which containsnactive hydrogen atoms reactive with isocyanate group, hasna hydrophile-lipophile balance (HLB) value of 17 or lessnand contains 15 to 35 in average of ethylene oxide unitsnin one molecule, (2) a polyoxyalkylene alkylaryl ether which containsnactive hydrogen atoms, has an HLB value of from 5 to 17nand contains ethylene oxide unit and (3) a nonionic emulsifying agent which containsnactive hydrogen atoms and a coupling agent (e.g., anmercapto group-containing silane coupling agent) whichncontains active hydrogen atoms and has a hydrolysisncondensing group. |
