The invention provides a photographic element comprising a non-light sensitive layer containing elemental silver and a nitrogen heterocycle compound having a ClogP of at least 4.5, which compound comprises a ring system of one or more fused rings containing at least one -N-H bond, the ring system comprising a total of at least three nitrogen ring members and the associated bonds; provided that the compound does not contain an -SH group or >C=S group and does not react with an oxidized developer. |
