The invention concerns a cermet structural element comprising a tribological ceramic layer which is substantially made up of Al2O3 and through which a metallic Al phase consisting predominantly of aluminides is drawn. The invention further concerns a method of producing a cermet tribological element in a single operation, wherein, in a pressure or pressure-casting device, liquid Al or Al alloy is pressed into a precursor which consists of or contains a ceramic matrix, has at least one tribological layer and contains at least one oxidic compound which can be reduced by Al as well as optionally further non-oxidic compounds or elements. The structural element is then optionally re-annealed until the aluminide and Al2O3 have formed. |
