titleOfInvention Wireless telecommunications system with user data transmission on a paging channel
abstract Wireless telecommunications systems are known in whichnBase stations to mobile subscriber terminals on onenSignaling channel transmit signaling data, for example so-calledn"paging messages" on a paging channel.n n n It is now proposed to transmit on the signaling channel (PCH), in addition to the signaling data, at least occasionally useful data for reception by the mobile subscriber terminals (MX, MY). This ensures that the mobile subscriber terminals can receive user data even if they have not yet been assigned a traffic channel. This is particularly advantageous when setting up a call from a terminal of a calling subscriber to a subscriber terminal (MX) of the telecommunications system (CTS). The user data can be used to form search call groups, for example, which comprise several subscriber terminals (MX, MY).
