Polymeric compositions comprising thermoplastic starch andna thermoplastic polymer incompatible with starch, in whichnthe starch constitutes the dispersed phase and the thermoplasticnpolymer constitutes the continuous phase, selected:n A) from compositions comprising an agent with anninterfacial effect selected from esters of polyols withnmono- or polycarboxylic acids with dissociation constantsnwithin certain limits, the esters having specific values ofnthe hydrophillic/lipophilic balance index HLB or beingnamongst the non-ionic surfactants which are soluble innwater but cannot significantly be extracted by water fromnthe compositions which contain them, B) from compositions wherein the thermoplastic polymer isnan aliphatic or aliphatic-aromatic copolyester wherein thenratio R between the average viscometric molecular weightnand the melt index is greater than 25,000 and C) from compositions wherein the thermoplastic polymer isnselected from aliphatic-aromatic copolyesters, polyester-amides,npolyester-ethers, polyester-ether-amides,npolyester-urethanes and polyester-ureas and wherein thencompositions are obtained by extrusion of the componentnmaintaining a water content during the mixing stage from 1nto 5% by weight. |
