titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of cyclopropylacetylene derivatives
abstract A process for the preparation of ancyclopropylacetylene derivative of the formula (V):n ncomprises the steps of reacting a propynolnderivative of the formula (I):n nwith a propane derivative of the formula (VI):n nin the presence of a base in an amount of 2 or morenequivalents relative to the propynol derivative tongive a cyclopropane nderivative of the formula (III):n ndeprotecting the protecting group for the hydroxylngroup of the cyclopropane derivative to give ancyclopropylpropynol derivative of the formula (IV):n nand subjecting the cyclopropylpropynol derivative tonretro-ethynylation. In the above formula R 1 , R 2 , R 3 ,nR 4 and R 5 represent a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl, nalkenyl, aryl or aralkyl each of which may have ansubstituent, R 6 and R 7 represent a hydrogen atom, ornan alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl each of which maynhave a substituent, or R 6 and R 7 may together form anring, R 8 represents a protecting group for anhydroxyl group and X and Y represent a leaving group.
