abstract The invention relates to a stent, specially a coronary stent, consisting of at least one thin-walled, tubular element with an openly reticular outer surface containing recesses, which are defined by narrow weblike elements. Said weblike elements are formed from the remaining material from the tube wall once the material has been removed from the recess area. The cross section of a weblike element is tapered in the proximity of the connection area with another weblike element in such a way that preferably a deformation comes about therein when the end of the weblike element that is distanced from the connecting area is deviated during expansion.
