abstract The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of a low-fibrillation moulded body containing polytetrafluorethylene. The method is characterized by twisting a polytetrafluorethyl preform and pressing it flat again afterwards. The preform can be twisted around itself or around another material e.g. a mono or multifilament or a spinning yarn. The invention also describes a low-fibrillation moulded body containing polytetrafluorethylene, which can be obtained using the method specified in the invention, as well as the use of the inventive moulded body as dental floss.
