In a process for the partial demineralization of water, in particular drinking water, with a mixture of weakly acidic cation exchangers and strongly basic anion exchangers, the charged ion exchangers are replaced by water containing CO 2, optionally with the addition of CaCO 3 , CaCO 3 / MgO, Ca (OH ) 2 or similar, regenerated. Simultaneously with the partial desalination, the organic carbon compounds present in the water are reduced, the charged ion exchangers being regenerated discontinuously with HCl, NaCl, NaOH or a mixture of NaCl and NaOH. |
