A sunscreen composition containingna UV-A dibenzoylmethane derivative, such asn4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethanen(PARSOL® 1789), and a stabilizer/solubilizer fornthe dibenzoylmethane derivative having formula (I):n n wherein m = 5, 7, 9 or mixtures and n = 4, 6, 8 or mixtures. nThese long branched chain alkyl salicylates having anC 4 + branch at the 2 position are quite effective innstabilizing the dibenzoylmethane derivative UV-Bnfilter compounds making them more effective;neffective for longer periods of time. |
