The invention relates to a novel phthalocyaninencompound absorbing in the near infrared region of thenspectrum with a high absorption coefficient whichnfeatures high solubility in solvents, goodncompatibility with resins and high aging resistance,nthus finding application as a near infrared raynabsorbing material or a light-heat conversion materialnwith great advantage and to a process for producing thenphthalocyanine compound. n The novel phthalocyanine compound has thenfollowing general formula:n nwherein R represents alkyl or alkoxyalkyl; X representsnhalogen, alkylthio, phenylthio which may be substituted,nor naphthylthio which may be substituted; M representsna couple of hydrogen atoms, a divalent metal, or antrivalent or tetravalent metal derivative. n The near infrared ray absorbing and light-heat nconversion materials containing the abovenphthalocyanine compound are also described. |
