titleOfInvention | Method of injection molding expandable plastic composition |
abstract | A process of injection molding a foamable plasticncomposition which comprises filling completely a moltennfoamable plastic composition into a cavity, while reducing anvolume of the cavity in the middle of injection ornimmediately after injection; cooling the composition to thenstate wherein a solidified layer in contact with a moldnsurface mingles with a molten inside layer; enlarging thenvolume of the cavity to that of the desired molded article;nand after further cooling, removing the molded plastic foamnarticle. This molded article comprises a layer having annon- or low-foamed, dense structure on the surface and anhigh-foamed layer at the inside, and has a light weight, ngood appearance and stiffness. |
