abstract A porous ceramic filter and its method of productionnare disclosed. The ceramic filter has at least one porousnlayer (or skin) made of a binder formed of a cured ceramicnpowder or a preceramic or pyrolyzed ceramic precursornoptionally containing a source of zirconia. In somenembodiments, the binder is formed of the zirconia sourcenonly. The presence of the zirconia gives a skin with goodnmechanical strength and corrosion resistance to both acidicnand basic solutions.
