Shock absorbing material |
abstract |
A shock-absorbing material composed of an expansion-moldednarticle of polypropylene resin particles isnexcellent in shock-absorbing property and impactnresilience compared with shock-absorbing materialsncomposed of other resin materials, but has not been saidnto be satisfactory in stiffness and energy absorptionnefficiency. n The present invention relates to a shock-absorbingnmaterial composed of an expansion-molded article producednby using foamed particles comprising, as a base resin, anpolypropylene homopolymer obtained by using a metallocenenpolymerization catalyst. The base resin has a tensilenmodulus of at least 15,000 kgf/cm 2 , and the expansion-moldednarticle has a crystal structure that an inherentnpeak a and a high-temperature peak b appear as endothermicnpeaks on a DSC curve obtained by the differential scanningncalorimetry of the molded article. The high-temperaturenpeak b is a peak appeared on the temperature side highernthan a temperature corresponding to the inherent peak a,nand the quantity of heat at the high-temperature peak isnat least 25 J/g. |
