ThenProduct of the process according to the invention, trans- (R, R) -actinol, is known as an important building blocknfor the synthesis of carotenoids, e.g. Zeaxanthin. The process turns trans- (R, R) -actinolninndelivered particularly high enantiomeric and diastereomeric purity.
