titleOfInvention A surface-mount fuse and the manufacture thereof
abstract A surface-mount fuse (2) for protecting a circuit, includes a substrate (4) and a metal strip (30) evenly attached to a surface (6) of the substrate with a layer of adhesive material (40). The metal strip (30) has two connection regions (32, 34). The fuse further includes two wire leads (50, 52) connected to the connection regions (32, 34). One alternative for the wire leads can include clip leads or other terminal leads. The fuse also includes a protective layer (70) disposed on the fuse link. A method of making the same is also disclosed.
