titleOfInvention | Chitin derivatives having carboxylated lower alkyl groups as hydrophilic substituents and hydrophobic substituents, high-molecular micellar supports comprising the derivatives, and micellar aqueous composition thereof |
abstract | Chitin derivatives having carboxyalkyl groups represented bynthe formula (1) below.n n[wherein, R 1 stands for either (CH 2 ) n CH 3 with n=8 to 20,nCO(CH 2 ) n CH 3 with n=7 to 19, H, or COCH 3 , and R 2 stands forn(CH 2 ) n COOH with n=1 to 5 or a salt thereof or H; the degree ofndeacetylation of the N-acetyl group in chitin is 70 to 100% (100%ndeacetylation means one deacetylated N-acetyl group per onenmonosaccharide unit); the degree of substitution of R 1 with an alkylngroup or alkylcarbonyl group is 10 to 100% (100% substitutionnmeans one substituent per one monosaccharide unit); the degree ofnsubstitution of R 2 with a carboxyalkyl group is 50 to 200% (200%nsubstitution means 2 substituents per one monosaccharide unit); andnthe molecular weight of the chitin is 500,000 or less, and desirablyn100,000 or less]. n This invention is able to provide chitin derivatives havingncarboxyalkyl groups as hydrophilic substituents and alkyl groups asnhydrophobic substituents useful for production of soil-improvingnagents, protein aggregating agents, and micelle-forming agents. |
